From the UAE’s Single-Use Plastic Ban to Global Purpose-Driven Solutions with Bags of Ethics
Bags of Ethics (Supreme Creations) was honoured to be part of Shoptalk Luxe 2026, held at the iconic Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi from 27–29 January 2026.
The event proved to be an inspiring platform to connect with industry leaders, creators, and visionaries who are redefining the future of luxury. We were deeply grateful for the meaningful conversations and shared ambition around sustainability, innovation, and responsible growth.
An Artistic Installation to Spotlight Single-use Plastic Issues in the UAE
A key highlight of our presence was the installation by FAD International Academy students, which powerfully spotlighted the UAE’s single-use plastic ban. The installation reinforced the urgent need for reusable solutions and reflected our long-standing commitment to creating products that are better for people and the planet, an ethos at the heart of Bags of Ethics.
From the UK to the UAE: Key Learnings and Best Practices
The impact of plastic pollution was particularly visible in the region. Discarded plastic waste posed a serious threat to wildlife, including camels, which have suffered fatal consequences from ingesting plastic debris. This stark reality underscored why systemic change, policy intervention, and responsible design are essential. Similar challenges were seen in the UK following the introduction of single-use plastic bans, where behaviour change, education, and scalable reuse solutions proved critical to ensuring long-term impact. These global lessons continue to inform our approach.
The Responsible Supply Chain Explained
Shoptalk Luxe also provided an opportunity to celebrate the exceptional women behind Bags of Ethics and to showcase our purpose-driven reusable products, crafted for leading brands worldwide. We were proud to host two sessions—“GEN-Z’S LUXURY RETHINK: Restyling. Reselling. Reusing” and “The Reuse Reset”—moderated by Smruti Sriram OBE, CEO, Bags of Ethics. These conversations featured insights from some of the industry’s most forward-thinking voices, including Kirsty McGregor, Cora Delaney, Caroline Rush CBE, Seneca Cottom, Hiba Waleed, Casey Jean, and Amaan Duffer.
Together, through collaboration, innovation, and conscious design, we helped shape a more responsible and circular future for luxury, one where reuse is not an afterthought, but the standard.
