Clara Mercer from British Fashion Council fondly remembered planting the Chinaberry tree for the Queen’s Green Canopy, at the Chelsea Physic Garden earlier this year.
Marnie Gaffney of Queen’s Green Canopy, the campaign to plan trees across the country for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, spoke of the results so far – over a million trees planted all over the United Kingdom. Marnie asked the audience to support the campaign further as the planting season recommences in September 2022, as schools, community groups and urban areas receive trees from partners like the Woodland Trust, and Trees for Cities. Bags of Ethics is an official supporter of the Queen’s Green Canopy and has produced merchandise for the support of the cause which includes a picnic blanket from sustainably farmed cotton, a cooler bag, a reusable bottle, reusable jute bag and tea caddies. The collection is available to purchase here, and also at the Royal Collection Trust, John Lewis, Waitrose, and Harrods.
