Introducing the UK-India Creative Circle (UKICC) a non-profit shaping the future of creative collaboration.
In an increasingly connected world, creativity knows no borders. Ideas, inspiration, and innovation now flow freely across continents, driving industries, shaping culture, and creating economic opportunities.
These are the reasons why our founder, Dr R. Sri Ram, came with the idea of the UK-India Creative Circle (UKICC), creating a platform for designers, artists, entrepreneurs, and businesses from two of the world’s most dynamic creative economies to come together: India and the United Kingdom.
Announced on 2nd June 2025, at the inaugural SXSW London, the UKICC initiative was unveiled at the UK House of the UK Department for Business & Trade (DBT) with Dr R. Sri Ram named as its first ever Chair.
For our founder, who has always been inspired by design-led innovation and sustainability, the launch of UKICC represents more than a partnership initiative; it reflects the belief that creative collaboration can drive not only business growth but social and environmental impact.
With an advisory board of 5 outstanding leaders in various creative industries and the help of the UK Department for Business & Trade and trade, UKICC enables artists, designers, and businesses to move from inspiration to tangible collaboration.
Whether it’s a UK designer seeking sustainable manufacturing expertise in India, or an Indian creative enterprise looking to access UK markets, the Circle provides a bridge built on trust, resources, and shared goals.
The creative industries are among the fastest-growing sectors globally. According to UNESCO, they contribute billions to national economies, create jobs, and drive innovation. For the UK and India, collaboration is particularly significant because it:
- Amplifies talent: Both countries have rich pools of creative professionals. By connecting them, UKICC increases opportunities for learning, mentorship, and joint projects.
- Strengthens economic ties: Beyond individual projects, creative collaboration fuels trade, investment, and cross-sector innovation.
- Promotes sustainability: Shared resources, knowledge, and technology enable more efficient, environmentally responsible production.
- Fosters cultural diplomacy: Creativity becomes a bridge for understanding, breaking down stereotypes, and building long-term relationships between nations.
