At Bags of EthicsTM we have developed a range of sustainable children’s antiviral face masks, specifically designed for children to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These colourful children’s reusable face masks have been developed by British and European designers and scientists, to help limit the spreading of bacteria from the nose and mouth of children who may have the virus but are asymptomatic. These fun animal print face masks help protect children who may be too small to wear a standard disposable mask, and keeps the supply of medical masks for the healthcare professionals who need them most during this global pandemic.

SPECIFICALLY FOR CHILDREN

These are different to medical grade surgical masks. Those are designed for professional healthcare workers with specific filtration requirements and are currently in short supply and are desperately needed across the world. However, our qualified scientific advisors have given us some specific requirements which our washable face masks meet in order to help prevent the spread of the virus through the release of droplets when things like speaking and sneezing. We know that small children may not always be able to catch their cough, and so our childrens reusable masks help them inadvertently spreading the virus to other people when out and about.

Our high qaulity children's face masks UK are washable with soap or detergent, by hand or in a washing machine. They can be machine washed up to 60 degrees but can also be washed just as well at lower temperatures which also helps save the planet.

EASY TO USE

When using your BOE sustaibable protective children’s mask we suggest that you place the nose covering mask over their face and loop the elastic bands their ears. You need to make sure that their mask covers the top of their nose, and under their chin. You should press down on the nose strip to adjust to a snug fit. They should be able to breathe and talk comfortably, without the sides of the mask billowing. After using your mask, or once damp, remove the mask and put it in the protective pouch which comes with all of our masks, if you cannot wash it straight away. This prevents the spread of the virus onto other items that may be in your children’s bag.

Wash your children’s reusable mask cloth after use, with soap or detergent, and make sure the soap foams properly. You should then air dry your fabric layer face mask. You should then reuse your mask, and you should be able to reuse it 50 plus times. If you want to add your own filter into your children’s face mask pattern, look for the panel inside the mask to insert it in. We advise that you try to stop your child from fiddling with their washable face mask when wearing it. To recycle the fabric layer mask (if your child is no longer reusing it), cut to separate the cotton panels as these are compostable. The elastic loops can be recycled subject to local council regulations.

No Single-Use Plastic

We want to say goodbye to single-use plastic with our fun children’s reusable masks. Disposable face masks if not disposed of by non-healthcare professionals correctly, can have a devastating effect on our planet and the communities which inhabit it.

A shocking 150 million tons of single-use plastic is produced each year. With the increased usage of surgical single-use plastic masks by the general public, and with them not being disposed of correctly, single-use masks can create a big environmental issue.

On the beaches of Hong Kong, thousands of masks are already being washed up, threatening the wildlife that inhabits our oceans. Our travel use masks and protective pouch contain no single-use plastic and help to limit the amount of single-use masks being used around the world.

Scientific Community Conversation on Masks

George GaoEldad EinavBrienen, Nicole CJ
The big mistake in the U.S. and Europe, in my opinion, is that people aren’t wearing masks. This virus is transmitted by droplets and close contact. Droplets play a very important role—you’ve got to wear a mask, because when you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth. Many people have asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections. If they are wearing face masks, it can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.

As the weight of evidence shifts toward supporting a major role for asymptomatic transmission, the use of personal facemasks, especially in crowded areas, becomes instrumental in preventing community spread of the virus. We can no longer rely on symptoms or screening to tell us whether mask protection is needed.
