Bags of Ethics wins prestigious Award given by His Royal Highness, Prince Charles

Bags of Ethics in 2009, was presented with the prestigious National Example of Excellence award from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in the United Kingdom. Bags of Ethics showed that it is really possible to have an outstanding model caring for farmers of bags which help save the environment, and for clients' shop floors, helping cut down plastic bag consumption;

Bags of Ethics was commended on paying jute and cotton farmers premium fair wages, and for, paying workers (of which 90% are female, and 60% come from underprivileged backgrounds) more than the garment industry average. The work with clients such as Tesco (Fresh&Easy) and Vanity Fair was also highly commended.

The garden party events took place in Clarence House at St james' Palace-the Prince's House.

In August 2008, The British High Commissioner to India, Sir Richard Stagg opened the new façade of the Bags of Ethics factory. He said, “One of my objectives as High Commissioner to India is to facilitate and invigorate positive trade and business links with India and the UK. I cannot stress how important it is when facilitating such links, that we take great care of both the people and planet, as well as considering our prosperity. What I have seen here at Dr R Sri Ram’s factory today shows that is possible to really combine ethics with a green business model, which I am very proud to be part of…”
